Memory Verse: Psalm 23:1-6

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 9:6, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” In John 14:27, Jesus Christ said to His disciples “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Peace remains a goal for introspective individuals around the world. Regardless, of what has happened, or could have or should have happened, our Heavenly Father and God Himself created us, gifted us, and ordained us, not the people and the world. Being at peace with oneself is to feel calm and contented, and have no emotional conflicts within oneself or with other people. The lifelong search for inner peace challenges us to learn more about ourselves while allowing us to evolve with the seasons and this means that we can forgive ourselves of the mistakes or bad behaviour of the past. To be at peace with ourselves is not struggling to become another person that we are not, but we can also realistically evaluate things to improve upon. But remember that Self actualized is not the same as at peace with ourselves.

In our everyday life, we encounter different challenges, whether internal turmoil or conflict with others. Aside from that, we also feel anxious about the state of the world we’re in. As human beings, God has a deep desire for all His children to know what peace, happiness, and joy truly are — even in times of trouble. We think peace is simply the gift God gives us, but it is so much more. It is critical to our ability to resist doing things that are not honest, not pure and kind. If we panic and run around trying to create our own peace we only bring tragedy. Isaiah 26:3 says “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Matthew 11:28 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” If we have peace with confidence that God has a better plan than ours, we can see immediately the rewards of what He wants to give us here and now. But we have to take the steps and do the work, and the steps we take will lead us to His abundant plan for us.

As believers, the idea of finding inner peace may seem simple, but it’s usually easier said than done. Whether we’re dealing with financial woes, relationship troubles, or any other obstacle that’s keeping us from our joy, peace may seem unobtainable at the moment — but it is, in fact, reachable through the power of prayer. As a person, nobody can bring you peace but yourself. No matter where we are in life or how spiritual we are, finding a sense of inner peace is a constant yearning that we may face. Learning to become at peace with ourselves is one of the most basic human desires, and is often a skill that requires a lot of practice. To be at peace with yourself, the first step is not to hold grudges; avoid ego; don’t compare self with others; learn from mistakes; take responsibility; be kind to self and others. Then experiencing peace with God is knowing where we stand with Him and also where we stand in our faith with God. Remember that it is impossible to please God without Faith, as it is written in Hebrews 11:6. Faith in Jesus Christ is the key to being at peace with ourselves—INNER PEACE. Even on the hardest days, peace of mind is possible. Draw closer to God and obtain His divine peace. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW! STAY HEALTHY! STAY STRONG! STAY FOCUSED! STAY BLESSED.
