📖: Micah 7:7-10
Confession: Psalm 27
As human beings, we are sinful by nature and we sin against God every day (Romans 3:23). One way or another most of us have gone through the experience of falling. No one is perfect that’s why we all sin, stumble, and fall, but in different ways. The journey of life is not bird of roses, it’s full of ups and downs. We all have good and bad times, having to be in the valley, or mountain top.
Micah 7:8 “Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light”.
We must remember that Satan is our greatest enemy and very cunning. He’s always at work, planning, scheming, and setting traps to make the children of God fall into sin (Psalm 142:3). Our scripture verse describes the circumstances of falling and not to stay fallen (valley), BUT to rise again (2 Corinthians 4:9). Psalm 46:5 says “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day”.
When we fall into sin, we are separated from God and during our separation, we are not under God’s protection. We are alone during the situation, which is our darkness period. Sometimes the situation can be short or longer than expected. With genuine repentance, faith, boldness and confidence, we cry to God and ask for forgiveness. He will forgive, have mercy and deliver us from whatever the situation we are faced with (Psalm 42:10-12). God will always forgive a repentant heart because He loves us unconditional. The Lord is our Light and Salvation (Psalm 27:1), and also our Advocate and Intersessor, He will interceed for us and in due time with patience He will avenge us of our enemies and bring our enemies to justice (Psalm 112:4)
As Christians, no matter how many times we might fall, God will help us (Psalm 145:14), for a righteous man falls seven times and rises against, but the wicked stumble in time of calamity (Proverbs 24:16-17). Whatever caused failure in our lives, or have made us to fall, we must have faith and believe that we shall rise again. God is still on the Throne, and He is working behind the scene to move us out of darkness into light. Sometimes, our greatest achievements in our spiritual growth will be made during our darkest times.
When we hope in the Lord, He will save and deliver us from darkness to light, and renew our strength and we shall mount up with wings like eagles, we will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31). Therefore, we must never give up when we fall. The situation will become our breakthrough, in Jesus’ name. Let us commit our ways to the Lord, and trust Him. 1 Peter 2:9 says “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light”. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW! Have a relationship with God.
