📖: Philippians 4:4-7

Confession: Psalm 91

We all have been faced with life situations one way or the other and the experience can be very painful. We want the situation to go away quickly.  Unfortunately, life does not work that way and as children of God, we need to seek God. 1 Chronicles 16:11 says “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always”. To seek God’s face is through prayer.
Prayer is communication between God and man and a channel through which the power of God flows. Prayer is very vital to our Christian journey.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. With thanksgiving we are able to approach God’s presence and the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16). When we go to God, the hearer of prayers, He will hear and listen to those who cry out to Him for help. Some situations may arise in our lives and with just a simple prayer, God sometimes answers swiftly. Other times, it may take longer than expected and we need to petition God, with prayers and fasting.

Our prayerful petition to God, can be answered only when we’ve established a relationship with God and seeking His presence daily. Matthew 6:33 says “but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well”. Then whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, God will do it (John 14:14).

Philippians 4:6 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. Sometimes we need to demonstrate to God the seriousness of our petition like Jacob who wrestled all night with the angel and will not let the angel go unless the angel blessed him (Genesis 32:24-26). Other examples in the Bible Hannah (1 Samuel 2:1); David (1 Samuel 30:7-8); Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10), just to mention a few.

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). God is willing to accept prayers of those who comes to Him in faith and sincerity. But when we petition God, with wrong motives, we may not receive answers to our prayers (James 4:3). After we’ve made our supplication to God, we must believe that God already answered our prayers even before we finish praying, because the Holy Spirit interceeds for us. The major keys to answered petition is for us to have a thankfully heart with praise and worship, humility, faith, believe, trust, and patience. We must continue praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and never give up until our petition is answered. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW! Have a relationship with God.

PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Stay blessed! Shalom!!!

🙏 O Lord, I give you all the glory and adoration, in the name of Jesus

🙏 Father Lord, forgive me of any known and unknown sin I have committed and have mercy on me in Jesus’ name.

🙏 Father, I am tired of the valley, change my story for the best by fire, take me to higher ground in Jesus’ name.

🙏 I seal my prayers with the Blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.

🙏 Thank You Lord, for answered prayers.
