📖: Acts 2:1-4
Confession: Psalm 91
Acts 2:1-4 says “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them”.
“God is Love” and “God is a consuming Fire” (Hebrews 12:29). God uses Fire to lighten up our hearts, it consumes what is evil in us, cleanses, and humbles us. The Fire of God purifies, strengthens our faith, directs, delivers, protects, and empowers us to be who God wants us to be.The Fire of God is a spiritual experience that is imparted upon those that are born again as it is written in John 3:5 which says “Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit”. This is a manifestation of God Himself. John 3:6 says “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit”.
The Fire of God is very important in a believer’ life and it empowers us for our Christian journey. To want fresh Fire of God upon our lives, we must allow the Living Water in us to boil, then we will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Fresh Fire; we have to yearn and hunger for the Word of God-it’s nourishment to our body, soul, and spirit. Without the word of God we cannot go far in our Christian journey; be a Prayer addict. Every time we pray, we are communicating to God. A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17); Holiness-live a holy life; Obedience to God-we must obey God’s commands through His Words without questioning or argument; Faith-faith comes from hearing the Word of God and without faith it is difficult to please God.
Fresh Fire of God is more powerful than Old fire, because old fire cannot help us due to the devices and schemes of the devil. We need fresh Fire in our prayer lives. In the Old testament, “the fire on the altar must be kept burning continuously; it must not go out” (Leviticus 6:13), the same way we must not allow the Fire of God in us to go out. It must not be extinguished in our lives, we must keep it burning. Jesus is saying to us today whoever is thirsty should come to Him and drink (John 7:37-38). Jesus wants to fill us up with His power but we have to thirst for it before He can fill us up. He is waiting for us today. It’s time for us to ignite our lives with the Fire of God. Let us strive and experience the awesome power of the Fire of God and fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late! DO IT NOW!
