📖: Psalm 91:1-16
Confession: Psalm 2
Life is full of uncertainty and we do not know what tomorrow will bring. In this present time, we need spiritual security to protect us in our Christian journey.
Psalm 91:1 says “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty”
A shadow is a dark shape that appears on a surface when someone or something moves between the surface and a source of light. It shows shapes and are not limited to the physical world. It is a privilege to rest in the shadow of the Almighty, but it is not everybody that can abide under His shadow. The shadow of the Almighty is our protection from evil. We will be shielded by God where to harm can come near us, He will be the covering, opening, and breakthrough for our lives. In the secret place, there’s protection and provision for those who believe and trust in God in their trials and tribulations.
In Acts 12:7-8 which says the chains fell of Peter’s hand and the angel told Peter to follow him. This meant the angel was in front to command or to destroy any obstacle on their way out of prison. In Acts 12:9, the angel of God was the shadow Peter needed to take him out of the prison. Acts 12:10 says “They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him”. If Peter was not under the shadow of the Almighty, He would not have be able to escape prison or escaping death from the hands of Herod
In the day of trouble, Psalm 27:5 says God will conceal us in His tabernacle, but this promise is conditional. It is our choice to choose whether we want to rest under the shadow of the Almighty or not. When we sin against God, and are in distress, we cannot enter His presence until we ask forgiveness of our sins, we can then pray and ask Him to deliver and protect us. We need to make the choice today by faith and make Jesus Christ our personal Saviour so that we can dwell in the secret place and rest under His shadow. Let us strive and confess Psalm 91 daily, and fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late! DO IT NOW!
PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
