📖: Isaiah 58:6-11
Confession: Psalm 91
Spiritual yoke has a strong hold on the progress of our lives. It is the worst hindrance any believer could experience in life. Some of us are being oppressed by this yoke and do not know it. Spiritual yokes can be anything that has influence or a hold over us negatively.
A yoke in the spiritual sense can prevent us from achieving our destiny. Ephesians 6:12 says “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. It’s aim is to steal, kill, and destroy our lives (John 10:10).
Satan wants to destroy the children of God that is why Jesus Christ paid the price and nailed our sins to the cross on Calvary. As believers, some of us are experiencing spiritual yokes due to sins and coveteousness. We sometimes allow money to affect our relationship with God (Matthew 6:24). We must not allow the devil to make us fall into his trap. Samson was destined to free his people but fell into Satan’s trap because of his ungodly desire. He lost his spiritual awareness and fell for the enemy’s trap, dying without fulfilling his destiny. Solomon, with his divine wisdom and endowed riches, saw his demise because of sins that created a spiritual yoke.
God is our stronghold and it is a privilege and joy to dwell in “the secret place of the Most High” (Psalm 91:1), therefore we must understand that God is our protector and we must strive to have a relationship with Him always and through the help of the Holy Spirit, grow spiritually. When we start experiencing yokes in our lives, we can backslide in our spiritual life, our prayer altar is affected, and we’re unable to fast.
Isaiah 58:6 says, “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”
The Bible teaches us the value of spiritual growth through the Blood of Jesus, fasting, prayers, deliverance, meditation, and memorizing the Word of God.
Spiritual growth requires a lot of commitment, Mark 9:25-29, details Jesus Christ stressing the importance of fasting to His disciples in breaking yokes. We must submit and surrender every area of our lives to God, and put on the armor of God as it is written in Ephesians 6:14-18, then we will be able to break the spiritual yoke over our lives. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late! DO IT NOW!
PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have a blessed weekend. Shalom!!!
