📖: Philippians 3:12-16

Confession: Psalm 91

Procrastination is a big problem and we need to be aware of it adverse effects to our spiritual growth which can lead to spiritual poverty. Procrastination can rob us of time that cannot be regained (Ephesians 5:15-16).

Proverbs 18:9 says “One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys”. Procrastination is a destroyer of blessings and not only that, it can make us sin against God due to disobedience to something God tells us to do and we keep putting it off. Time they say waits for no one. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”. We can overcome procrastination because it is a bad habit, that needs changing. We need to renew our mindset in order for us to win the struggle against procrastination.

The first step is for us to be HONEST with ourselves that we procrastinate because at the end of it all everyone will give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12). Secondly; BE REALISTIC, we must avoid making commitments we cannot keep (Galatians 6:9). Thirdly; STOP THE EXCUSES, stop justifying the reason for delay regarding sharing our faith, be it task, projects, work, don’t give excuses, don’t delay, just do it! (Colossians 3:23-24). Fourth; DON’T BE A PERFECTIONIST, waiting, wanting for thing to be perfect before we start or execute anything (1 Corinthians 14:40). Finally; REMOVE LAZINESS AND SLOTHFULNESS   in our Christian journey, there must be no room for laziness, because it can rob us of our purpose, productivity, and effectiveness. It is also a sin (Proverbs 13:4; 6:9).

Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all this through him who gives me strength”. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, prayer, and meditation  on the Word of God , we can be empowered in renewing our mindset and not be controlled by our fleshy desires. Let us strive and stop procrastinating, stop the delay and stop wasting of time, but be disciplined and become productive in our Christian journey. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late! DO IT NOW!

PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
