📖: Psalm 136:1-9
Confession: Psalms 91
To wake up and see a new day is by the grace of God, and grace is God’s umerited favour. Psalm 107:15-16 says “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder”. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above (James 1:17). The greatest gift from God to His children is gift of life through Jesus Christ.
We take for granted blessings bestowed upon us by God and only dwell on challenges and circumstances affecting our lives. Psalm 100:4 says “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name”. We must give thanks to God for His mercy and grace upon our lives. Thanking God, also ushers us into His presence. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. to him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever” (Psalms 136:1-4).
We must have an attitude of gratitude as it is written in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:18 which says “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. When facing challenges and give thanks to God, it makes the enemy to flee, it opens doors for blessings from God, it grant our heart’s desires and fulfill all our plans (Psalm 20:4). By so doing, we are humbled and remember we are not in control of our lives but God; who is the giver of all things and He is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. It also reminds us that we belong to God and are “blessed with every spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
It is sometimes difficult to see the blessings that God has given us; neither do we recognize them for what they are and often we take these blessings for granted because we sometimes feel and see them as small blessings. We must express appreciation at all times, in everything regardless of what is going on in our lives, either good or bad, the country, government, or even the economy. Psalm 69:30 says “I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Let us therefore ensure that our thanksgiving is more than our prayer requests, and petitions. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Be expectant! Stay connected! Stay focused! Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
