WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD

📖: Colossians 1:9-12

Confession: Psalm 91

“So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).

As Christians, we are saved by His grace which is God’s unmerited favour, and through His grace, we receive faith, which is a substance of things that we hope for and believing it will manifest (Hebrews 11:1). Faith plays an important role in the process of our Salvation, and  without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is through faith that we are able to do God’s works, and doing so pleases Him. (Hebrews 11:6). Faith without works is dead (James 2:26) and it is the bedrock of  Christianity.

To walk worthy of the Lord means to live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work (Matthew 3:8); growing and increase our knowledge of God, (Colossians 1:10); be strengthened with God’s strength (Philippians 4:13); strive for the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23); whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ (Philippians 1:27); and  always be grateful to God no matter what (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Grace, faith, and works are all interwoven and are components of Salvation of man. Salvation is being saved from the penalty of sin and from God’s wrath and judgement. Salvation is by grace through Jesus Christ. It is a gift and not earned by good works (Ephesians 2:8). Regardless of our position in life, or we are far away from desired goals, let us hope and wait for the manifestation of our goals, and in the process of waiting let us walk worthy of the Lord. We must endeavour not to allow the things that we are yet to achieve stop us from working for the Lord with all of our heart (Colossians 3:23). Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did (1 John 2:6).

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him” (Colossians 2:6), we must walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW! Have a relationship with God; Hear God’s Word; Read His Word; Meditate on it; Memorize it; Stand on it; Pray His Word; Confess it, and may the power in God’s Word change our lives for the better, to receive our covenant promises and the heavenly promises, to the glory of God, in the name of Jesus.

PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have a blessed and wonderful week. Shalom!!!
