📖: 1 Peter 1:1-25

Confession: Psalm 51

God created Adam and Eve, to prosper mankind and not to harm, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Adam and Eve initially walked with God having personal relationship and they lacked nothing. Everything was available to them. Unfortunately, they disobeyed God allowing themselves to be deceived by the serpent (Genesis 3:8) and till this present day, the devil is still deceiving mankind. 1 Peter 1:14 says “As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance”.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him, must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Walking with God is by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). If we walk with God and obey His commandments as written in Leviticus 26:3; then God will walk with us and He will be our God as illustrated in Leviticus 26:12. We are God’s children, but if we do not walk with God, He will not walk with us because He already commanded us to walk with Him as it is written in Deuteronomy 5:33. There’s a saying “obeying is be than sacrifice”. Examples of people described as walking with God in the Bible Abram (Genesis 17:1-2); Enoch (Genesis 5:24); Noah (Genesis 6:9); Moses (Exodus 3:14); David (Acts 13:22); Job (Job 42:16-17), just to mention a few.

As Christians, we sometimes lose focus on our christian race by not walking with God due to trials and tribulations. For us to be able to walk with God, we must have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ, meditating on the Word of God, prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will walk with God as illustrated in Isaiah 35:8. By so doing, we will grow spiritually, our faith develops, and will surrender and trust Him with everything. When we walk with God, even though we walk in the valley of the shadow of death, we will not be afraid because God is with us, His rod and staff will comfort us (Psalm 23:4).

Our relationship with God is personal, so is walking with Him. We must strive to attain the attributes of the fruilt of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) rather than conform to the characters of the world. When we walk with God, we are eager to be in Him presence; yearn to hear His voice; to speak with Him; we also want to pour our hearts to Him either in good or bad situations at all times. Walking with God makes us to be like the tree planted by the streams of water that flourish in all seasons (Psalm 1:3). For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!

PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
