📖: Hebrews 10:3-14
The physical blood is essential to life and it’s the fluid that supplies oxygen and nutrients to the brain and heart for it to function. Our identity (DNA) is discovered in our blood. Leviticus 17:11 says “For the life of the flesh is in the blood”.
The Bible in the Old Testament teaches us about the blood of animals used for different kind of offings. Also it was a protection covering for the Hebrew people when they had to leave Egypt for the promise land, it was on the doorpost of their houses as a sign/coat for the plague/death to passover (Exodus 12:12-13). The New Testament tells us that animal blood was no more necessary as offering sacrifice. Rather, Jesus Christ shed His Blood once and for all on the cross at Calvary for the forgiveness of sins and wrath of God (Romans 6:9; Hebrews 9:22).
The Blood of Jesus is the greatest mystery of eternity.
Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, through the shedding of His Blood, takes away the sins of the world and brought us Salvation, an important gift to mankind. His Blood is not an ordinary Blood, but of atonement and forgiveness of our sins. As believers, through His Blood, we have access to the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19). It redeems, forgives, and cleansed us from our sins (Ephesians 1:7). It gives us life (John 6:53); cleanses our conscience (Hebrews 9:14). Jesus’ Blood never loses it’s power. It is ‘unstained’, ‘powerful’, ‘incorruptible’, ‘precious’ and without any ‘blemish’ or ‘defect’ and has supernatural power, an effective weapon for the pulling down of all strongholds, breaking of yokes, chains and bondages. Jesus’ Blood enables us to conquer and overcome the accuser, which is Satan (Revelation 12:11).
We all have missed the mark thereby fallen short of the glory of God. As born again Christians, the Blood of Jesus saves, heals, and deliver us and it’s a lasting covenant. We must never forget the price and sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us to be reconciled back to God. The power of the Blood is redemption, Salvation, victory, and covenant of God. Without the shedding of His precious Blood, which is the remission of sins, there is no life. The shedding of His Blood paved way for the Holy Spirit to dwell within us to lead, guide, direct, for spiritual growth, and prepare us as believers for eternal life. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), who shed His precious Blood once and for all as a sacrifice to mankind. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
