📖: Mark 10:46-52.
“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging” (Mark 10: 46).
Bartimaeus was handicapped due to his blindness. Despite the fact that he was blind, he came to the wayside to solicit for money. He needed to survive and begging was the only way he could earn money. His sense of sight was gone, but could speak and he used his voice to his advantage to solicit for alms. His blindness was not a challenge for him when he heard that Jesus was passing. His focus was to be healed; hence, he cried out to Jesus for mercy, he was focused because he knew Jesus had the power to cure his blindness.
God is saying to us today that we must not allow our disadvantages to stop us; what is missing in our lives to cause us to accept the status quo; we must not allow our misfortunes to become the reason to not make progress in our lives; nor allow the disappointment of men to become the highway to our irrelevance; we must not allow issues not working in our favour at the moment to become the reason we should fold our arms and do nothing, nor allow any disadvantages to push us into hiding. We must press forward in areas of our lives that needs to move to the next level.
Blind Bartimaeus despite his disadvantage, he did not hide at home. He took action cried to Jesus to have mercy on him. He received his healing because he took action; the first level of progress was the moment he stepped out despite his disadvantage and the second was when he looked up to Jesus “the Great Physician” for mercy. God is saying to us today, as we step out despite our disadvantages, we will have divine favours, we shall rise to the mountain top, we shall step into divine opportunity alertness and prosperity that will distinguish us for greatness amongst our peers. Let us re-examine our faith and put our trust in Jesus. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have blessed day. Shalom!!!
