OVERCOMING  PRAYER-LESS-NESS

📖: 1 Samuel 12:23

Confession: Psalm 32

Prayer is the life-line of Christianity and when we don’t pray to God, it becomes a sin. To live a prayerless life is to be disobedient to the command of God and an opening to temptations that leads to sin. The Word of the Living God commands and encourage us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). When we don’t know what to pray about, Jesus taught us to pray the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) and in Luke 18:1 says we should always pray and not give up.

We must always evaluate our prayer life. When it does not conform to God’s command, we must work to identify the reasons for not being prayerful, before we can overcome the prayer-less-ness in our lives. The first most important key is knowing who God is and believing in Him (Ephesians 6:18; John 14:1); deal with our unbelief (Psalm 53:1-4); not to put our trust in man but God only (Jeremiah 17:5); must not worship other gods (Deuteronomy 32:17); disobedience as a result of guilt (Genesis 3:9-12); we must not be tired of praying (Luke 22:45); there should be no discord because it can hinder our prayer lives.

As Christians, there are consequences of not being prayerful because it opens the door to temptations that can becomes a sin, and an insult to God. When we don’t pray, it is an indication that we do not need God rather we want to rely on our own strength, guidance, direction, and wisdom. The adverse effects of not being  prayerful is that God’s plan, purpose for our destiny may be slow or not manifest. It affects our spiritual growth. Therefore, the solution to prayer-less-ness is to always pray not to fall into temptations (Luke 22:40). Let us convert our worries to prayers. We cannot get anything from God with worried heart. As believers,  there is no room for prayer-less-ness.

True believers must cultivate the habit of praying always to enable us grow spiritually and protect us from the schemes and devices of the enemies. Fellowship with God daily in prayer (Colossians 4:2); read God’s Word daily (Acts 17:11); obey God’s command (John 14:14); trust in God (1 Peter 5:7); and hand over all to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to take control to empower us daily (Galatians 5:17-17). When we are not  prayerful, it hinders God’s work. Therefore “pray without ceasing”  (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Let us stay revive our prayer lives and stay connected to God through Jesus Christ and see God’s hand moving mightily and powerfully upon our request in life in Jesus’ mighty name. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!

PRAY THIS; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Stay connected! Stay focused! Have blessed day. Shalom!!!
