Confession: Psalm 91
We must learn a great lesson from this chapter of the scripture on why disobedience to law, and above all to God, has serious consequences. God gave a command through the angel and said to Lot’s family “DON’T LOOK BACK, AND DON’T STOP”, but Lot’s wife choose to look back and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26). The consequence of Lot’s wife’s action, was Lot fathering his own grand children. We must be obedient to God. Disobedience should be erased from our vocabulary, and renew our minds with the word Obedience, so that we will always strive to be obedient to God’s Word.
When we are faced with making choices, we sometimes know the right decision to make, but we don’t want to do it, due to pride, arrogance, and temptation. A wrong choice possess some chane of danger which can lead to change in destiny or even death. That’s why it’s paramount for us to remember the power of choice. We can choose to yield to temptation, but once we’ve made that choice, we cannot choose the consequences that comes after. Biblical examples of people who were disobedient to God’s Word, just to mention a few; Samson, king Saul, and Judas made the wrong choice and suffered the consequences which lead to their death. On the other hand, as Christians, we can choose to yield to the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:13) for direction and exercise the wisdom of God and will not become slave to sin, rather live a life that leads to eternal life (Romans 6:22). Choose today, through the power of grace, to yield to the Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 30:19 says “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live”. God has given us the free will to make our own choices in life and it is left for us to make those choices. We make choose to inquire from God or decide to lean on own understanding or friends. The choice is ours. But we must not forget that there are consequences when we don’t seek the face of God through prayers for direction and guidance in God’s Word on any decision to enable us make the right choice. Have an intimate relationship with God through Jesus. Talk to Him through praise and worship, meditation on the Word, and prayer. We must trust God, be obedient, and patient. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
