📖: Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
The Bible is very clear about consequences of disobedience to God. Every day we are faced with making choices and our decision can either be positive or negative, whichever way, our decision can either elevate, destroy, or haunt us for the rest of our lives. We sometimes make decisions based on our desire to live up to our potentials. Life can sometimes be very challenging with wrong choices and the bigger the decision, the bigger the consequences concerning marriage, career, job, house to live in, etc…When we are disobedient to God, sometimes the consequences does not manifest instantly and othertimes it does. At the end of the day we have to live with the wrong choice. Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord”.
Proverbs 1:7 says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction”. As Christians, it is imperative to have humility in our decision because those who fear God, are not proud or arrogant, and they submit themselves to the Will of God. Therefore, when making decisions, we must not rely on our own wisdom and understanding (James 1:5), but trust in God’s wisdom. Disobedience to God’s Word, or command can cause us delay, anguish, pain, and shame. Futher more, it can even affect our relationship with God. We must also, not allow anyone’s advice, suggestions, or opinion to supersedes God’s command and must not doubt God’s Word.
Our choices in life determines our destiny hence, we must put God first before we make any decision that might change our lives and destiny (Proverbs 19:21). Learning to recognizing negative advice is of essence, so we don’t have to make wrong choices. Satan will use anyone or anything to prevent us from fulfilling God’s command and make us doubt God’s Word. In the process of doubt, we may stumble, sway, or go astray from our divine purpose. In order for us not to be disobedient to God, we must have a relationship with Him, meditate on His Word, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit submit to God’s will for our choices in life. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
