📖: Revelation 3:7-13; Isaiah 22:22
Today’s message cuts across both believers and unbelievers, young or old. We all need divine open doors in our lives. A door is a barrier for opening and closing of an entrance way, admittance, or access to something. The door in topic is a spiritual door and it is only through Jesus Christ that we can gain access.
“And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open” (Isaiah 22:22). Sometimes in our physical life, God closes some doors and open other doors. He works mysteriously and no one can question Him. When we are faced with doors that we can’t open with our strength, this is because of our inability to open the door, or sometimes we open it and it gets closed again. We are sometimes faced with this situation because some of us succumb to fear of man and the powers of darkness, forgetting that God has given us the authority that “whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on the earth be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18; 16:19)).
The Bible says “The key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open” (Isaiah 22:22). We sometimes succeed in opening the door and it gets closed and it becomes harder or impossible to open, we must surrender it to the Almighty God, whose mighty Hand, Strength and Power will open the door that needs to be opened. The God we worship and serve is Jesus Christ, He is “The Door” (John 10:9) and “The Way” (John 14:6). When He opens the door for us, no one can shut and we will have great harvest (Isaiah 43:19).
As Christians, God says He is doing a new thing and it will spring up, and He will make a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19). With this, we must not focus on the physical door, which is prosperity, increase, wealth etc. Our focus should be on the spiritual door-Salvation. When Jesus opens a door for us, He expects us to use it as an opportunity to be saved, follow His Word and grow spiritually. It’s also an opportunity to preach the gospel; by so doing we lift up one another (Psalm 145:12). Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, who has the “Key” of David to open the door no one can shut (Revelation 3:7-13). For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
PRAY THIS PRAYER; in the name of Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart and I will make You my Lord and Saviour. Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
