📖: Jude 1:1-25
Confession: Psalm 91
John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. When we became born again Christians, we made a promise or vow to God, never to change back to our old ways. Every Christian has a missionary work to start on. We have been saved so as to save other lost souls to Christ. One of God’s promises is that we will survive and overcome all the challenges that life throws at us when we are obedient to His commands. As believers, we seek to live our lives for Jesus Christ even if we get scared or hurt in our Christian journey.
Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances and challenges beyond our control, we tend to break our word, promise, vow, or bond we made to God. As Christians we tend to flip-flop in our Christian journey.
Flip-flop is to make an unexpected reversal, a u-turn in your belief, attitude, or policy. In Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 make us to understand that there is time for everything. We must therefore not be overwhelmed by any trials, situations, and circumstances. Don’t think it will never end. But know that everything has an expiring date, even our lives will come to an end at God’s timing. According to the book of 1 Peter 5:8, tells us to “Be alert and of sober mind. our enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”. 1 John 4:1-3 tells us how to recognise the Holy Spirit so that we don’t fall prey to the devil to cause us to struggle in our faith.
In Christianity, without faith, it is impossible to serve and please God (Hebrews 11:6). Our faith is vey paramount. We must not flip-flop, waver in our faith, or doubt the power of God (Romans 4:20), rather stand firm in our faith, no matter what? God does not like those that flip-flops or are double minded Christians (James 1:8). We must persevere and at the end of it all, it will make us perfect and complete (James 1:1-2). As Christians, we must learn to take the step of faith daily, and the only way to do it, is to meditate on the Word of God and with the help of the Joly Spirit, we will press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called us to heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14). Let us fix our eyes on the cross and stand firm in our faith so that we don’t flip-flop in our Christian journey but have eternal life. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
