📖: Revelation 21: 1-7
The Bible makes it clear that there will be times when we will pass through times of heartache and sorrow (Job 5:7). Along the way, in the of our journey of life, we are confronted with different types of situations that can sometimes be tough and can bring tears into our eyes as a result of our emotions. Tears is part of human experience and it has strength. Tears is a deep emotional feelings from the heart, thereby transcends into spiritual experience.
Shedding tears is not a sign of weakness and cowardice as the world will want us to believe, but a sign of strength. Some of the world’s greatest people have shed tears. Sometimes, our emotional tears gives us joy and othertimes sadness. Some tears can be godly sorrow, deep anguish, or extreme joy. During praise and worship, some people have spiritual emotions; they cry. Tears and sorrow comes from worldly emotions of heartaches as a of failure, disappointment due to high expectations, failed plans; failure of friends; failure of family members; death in the family and broken health.
Psalm 6:6 says “I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears”. Whatever we are going through, we must know that there are better days ahead for the children of God. As it is written in Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning”. Weeping and sorrow will not last forever because when we cry to God; He will wipe away every tears of despair, agony, and disappointment. The book of Job, says God allowed Job to go through deep emotional sorrow and pain, and in Job 16:20, he cried to God and He answered him. It is only God that can truly comfort us in our time of need. That’s why in Psalm 56:8 says our tears of misery are concerns to God and are recorded in His scroll. God is always there to answer and deliver us from death; wipe tears away from our eyes, and our feet from stumbling (Psalm 116:8). it’s God’s promise to us as Christians.
As Christians, Revelation 21:4 says “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things are passed away”. The earth is a world of tears, but Heaven is a place void of tears. I believe we will have tears and burdens as long as we are rooted in this world. For us to live a life free of tears and burden, let us seek heaven. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus Christ who is the only way and ticket to heaven. (John 14:6) and spend our eternity with Him. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW!
