📖: 1 John 3:1-4
The Bible says God exists as the Father, the Son-Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit- and these three are ONE.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him” (1 John 3:1).
God’s love is different from the worldly love. Human love is conditional, BUT God’s love is unconditional because He chose to love us as sinners (Romans 5:8). He wants to fill us with His Spirit, so that we can fellowship and commune with Him.
The Holy Spirit is indeed a real person because He possesses a mind, emotions and will. The Holy Spirit thinks and knows ( 1 Corinthians 2:10). The Holy Spirit possesses the characteristics of God-TRIUNE GOD. The Holy Spirit can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30). The Holy Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26-27). He makes decisions according to His will (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The Holy Spirit is equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. He is considered to be the third member of the Holy Trinity.
The Roles of the Holy Spirit – He bears “witness” of Jesus Christ. He tells peoples hearts about the truth of Jesus, He is a teacher (John 14:26), He reveals God’s secrets, God’s will and God’s truth to us (1 Corinthians 1:10-16), He enables us to live the right Christian life (Romans 8:5-9), He makes us holy (Romans 15:16), He gives us new life (John 3:5-6). The Holy Spirit will build in a believers life, the fruit of the Spirit as stated in (Galatians 5:22-23). It is not only the believers that the Holy Spirit function in, the Holy Spirit also opens the hearts of unbelievers and convicts their conscience of God’s truth regarding sinful ways. The need for them to go to God and ask for forgiveness and about know Jesus Christ as the only way to righteous life and give their lives to Christ Jesus. That’s why in Acts 2:38 says “repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Therefore, without the Holy Spirit abiding in us; we can do nothing on our own, can not witness to the lost and needy and it can make our lives empty.
The Holy Spirit will walk us in His ways; help us keep His decrees and commandments; obey Him; then, He will be to guide, lead, teach, direct, and prosper every areas of our lives. Without the Holy Spirit abiding in us, we will continue to live in sin and the promise of God for an eternal life will not be fulfilled in us. Think About It! Let us make the Holy Spirit our Best Friend and our lives will never be the same again. Stay connected! Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
