📖: Exodus 33:14-23

Moses was no stranger to the presence of God. His encounter with God started in Exodus 3:2-15 “the Burning Bush”, there God chose Moses to go to Egypt and deliver the Jews from slavery and Pharaoh. God told Moses His Name “I AM WHO I AM”.
Knowing God’s name and with the fact that His presence will go with him to Egypt (Exodus 33:14), Moses became curious and anxious wanting to see GOD. He pleaded and prayed to God and said, “Now show me your glory” (Exodus 33:18). In essence Moses wanted to see God’s face and God told him no one can see my face and live. Though his request was granted but not the way he wanted because God put Moses in a clift of the rock and covered his face with His hand and he was able to see the back of God (Exodus 33:21-23).

The glory of God is a supernatural manifestation of His revelation and God reveals Himself to us in different ways as to how He wants us to know Him. God’s glory is His greatness and He reveals Himself for a purpose. The effect of God’s glory upon us is physically and spiritually evident. When we experience God’s glory upon our lives, everything is subject to it and things will become easier for us to achieve. Through our relationship with God, others will notice changes in our lives, sometimes even before we see the changes ourselves. An example of this was when Moses came down from the mount, his face shone, changed and the people saw it and were afraid, but Moses was unaware of any change  (Exodus 34:29-30).

During the period that Moses was with God on the mount, he saw the true nature of God as being loving, caring, merciful, and patient. Ephesians 1:17-18 says Jesus Christ is the same as God and He gives mercy, grace, forgiveness, and above all when Jesus manifest God’s glory upon us, the Holy Spirit will continue to increase in us spiritually and our lives will never be the same again. Let us strive to stay connected to God’s glory and our purpose on earth will be easy for us to achieve. Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
