📖: Jeremiah 29:11-14
We are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). When God created us, His plans is to prosper us and not to harm us, and to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). God created us so that we can seek Him earnestly and fellowship with Him. Rather, we are seeking happiness in worldly things that constantly make us fall into sin, mistakes, errors, lust, covetousness, and at the end of the day leads to worries and emptiness. Solomon said it all in the book of Ecclesiastes, that all the worldly things are temporary, and are “vanity”; meaningless like a chasing “under the sun”.
Jeremiah 29:13 says “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”. To seek the Lord is God’s command as it is written in the book of Amos 5:4 “This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live”; To seek, is to always desire more of Him (Psalm 63:1). This means to be in His presence and being in His presence is to be before His face spending time with Him and integrating Him into every area of lives, all the days of our lives. No matter the circumstances, no matter what life throws at us, we must seek the Lord and should be our most important priority. This means we must earnestly seek His Kingdom which is “SALVATION” that’s why Jesus died for our sin so that we will be able to be in God’s presence. Luke 19:10 says “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
One of God’s promise is to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:19), but what we need sometimes differs from God’s needs for us, and His needs for us is the best. According to the book of Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”. As children of God, we sometimes do not understand why we have to seek God’s presence. Romans 3:11 says “there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God”. Even as believers, we sometimes do not seek the presence daily. The Bible says we must seek the presence of God continually. When we seek God’s presence, our love for God increases, our spiritual lives improves thereby, guard us from committing sin and we develop Christ-like character. Proverbs 8:17 says “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.” Also, God will always be with us to the end of age (Matthew 28:20).
God wants us to seek Him so that we can be empowered against Satan. He is going round the earth to devour and destroy children of God; “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Our earthly father’s role on earth is to protect, provide, love, and care for us. Now let us look at the bigger picture; God, our creator, the Omnipresence, the Almighty, who knows everyone, everything, has everything, and owns everything. Won’t it be better for us to seek His presence of our Heavenly Father? There is reward in seeking and being in God’s presence. That’s why throughout David’s life, he thirsted to seek more of the presence of God, and walked with Him always and was the man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22). Therefore, we must seek Him, put our trust in Hm (Psalm 9:10) and He will deliver us from our fears (Psalm 34:4). For those of us that have not surrender their lives to Jesus, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW! and seek the presence of Lord always. Stay connected! Stay focused! Stay blessed! Shalom!!!
