📖: Psalm 118:1-18
Confession: Psalm 100
We have a lot to be grateful for in life. The journey of life is neither smooth nor easy. It’s full of uncertainty, ups and downs, trials, pain, happiness, struggles, worries, joy, and tribulations, which can often make us ungrateful.
Everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, (1 Timothy 4:4). As children of God, we must give Him glory because every good and perfect gift is from above (James 1:17) and it reminds us that God is the Giver of perfect gifts. The first perfect gift that we received from God is Jesus Christ (John 3:16), therefore, we must be grateful for His sacrifice for saving us. As Christians, we are justified through faith, and have peace with God through Jesus Christ because of His sacrifice (Romans 5:1) and must always give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34).
As Christians, we must devote ourselves to prayer, be watchful, and thankful (Colossians 4:2). We must give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). The pressure of survival might makes us worry and anxious, rather, we must not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to God (Philippians 4:6) and show gratitude for his works in our lives.
Psalm 28:7 says “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him”. When we put our trust in God for everything, the desires of our hearts will be given to us as long as it is beneficial to us and He will make our plans succeed (Psalm 20:4). The Bible tells us that David was “a man after God’s heart” (1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22). It will of benefit to us, if we can emulate David’s attributes in giving thanks to God; not just being thankful, but let us remembered God’s faithfulness towards us and our family, reverence to God, humility, faith, obedience, respect, trust, and above all always have a repentant heart. Let us cultivate the habit of gratefulness and appreciate God for all He has done, what His about to do, and those He will not do that we have asked. No matter the circumstances, on a daily basis, let us thank the Lord. Stay connected! Have blessed week. Shalom!!!
