📖: Hebrews 11:1-26

The book of Hebrews chapter 11 is known as the book of Faith. It defines the true meaning of “Faith” as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).

A. W. Tozer is quoted as saying “let God be true but everyman a liar.”

By faith, we know that we are created by God, and we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible (Hebrews 11:3).
Faith is not only a gift, but also one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and it’s the shield we need to be able to quench all fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16). We must walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:17) because faith is our Christian armour in the journey of life. By faith, Joshua and the Israelites went round the wall of Jericho and the seventh time the wall came tumbling down.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6) and “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Through faith God purifys our hearts and by His grace we are saved (Ephesians 2:8). When faced with any situation, instead of thinking about the problem, th e ough faith, we must learn to give God the praise in appreciation of an advanced victory over the situation.
Faith is a spiritual thing and if our faith is as small as a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20), it will carry us through trials and tribulations but it must be backed up with actions, as noted in James 2:17 say “also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead”.

Having faith and walking by faith is to fear God. Through Jesus Christ by faith, we were saved and born again and “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”. (Hebrews 13:8) is our Saviour. We must strive to ensure  our attitude, character, and lifestyle reflect Christ like attitudes to be able to have a relationship with God.  And to have a relationship with God, we need to walk by faith, grow in faith, and never lose faith in God. In developing our faith, we must not waver in our faith, pray always, meditate, and memorize scriptures. We must trust and have faith in God.

When we believe and have faith in God for the impossible, we will see beyond our trials and know through faith, that God is working behind the scenes to connect us to our next level in life. Therefore, we must “Look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”. (Hebrews 12:2 ). Those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW and stay connected to Jesus Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith. Have a blessed weekend. Shalom!!!
