📖: Proverbs 3:5-6

Confession: Psalm 143:10

“Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness” (Psalm 143:10).

As it is written in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Every day we are faced with life changing decision making and choices be it in our careers, marriage, businesses, jobs, etc. We sometimes wrestle with such decisions of God’s Will for our lives. Life is filled with decisions and most of these decisions are always influenced by our mind, emotions, and even by others. No matter how small or big the decision making is; the process is the same.

We find ourselves wanting to know Will of God for our lives, but fear and doubt sometimes prevents us from inquiring from God and forget that God is Omnipresence. He knows everything concerning us from our past, present, and future of our lives journey. He knows us better than we know ourselves. When we rely on our own understanding, the Bible tell us in Proverbs 28:26, that “Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe”. Examples of people in the Bible who seek God’s guidance; Noah, Moses, David, just to mention a few.

As children of God, we must understand that our thoughts are not His thoughts, neither our ways His ways declares the Lord (Isaiah 55:8).  When faced with making decisions on our own, we either choose the right choice, decision, and, path or suffer the consequences of our wrong decisions that affects our lives. Therefore, making any decision; we need to inquire from the Lord and He will lead the humble in justice, and teach the humble His way (Psalm 25:9). It is very important to inquire from God to show us His ways, teach us His paths, guide us in His truth, because He is our God, our Savior, and our hope is in Him all day long (Psalm 25:4-5).

As Christians, we sometimes rely on our ability and feel we know it all by taking our destiny in our own hands rather than taking it to God. It is only when we fail in  our choices or decisions that we decide to inquire from God. We take the Holy Spirit for granted. Psalm 86:11 says “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Having faith and trusting God’s guidance is the key to right decisions for our lives. When He the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). The results of God’s Will for our lives will be revealed to us through the Holy Spirit, prophecy, dreams, and the Word of God. It will teach and guide us (Proverbs 4:11) in the direction of His Will for our lives. He will ensure that we accomplish our goals, desires, and everything we do. Everything we do in life is for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Starting from today, let us strive in knowing the Will of God for our lives no matter how small the decision. We need to trust God, have faith, believe, be patient, and be obedient. Ask for God’s guidance, wisdom, and understanding. To know God’s Will, we must be born again. Those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW and stay connected to Jesus Christ the Author and Finisher of our faith and know God’s Will for our lives. Stay connected! Stay focused! Go and Prosper! Have a blessed day. Shalom.
