THE LORD’S ARM IS NOT SHORT

📖: Isaiah 59:1-21

“Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear” (Isaiah 59:1).

God our Creator and of the universe, through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made (John 1:3). “The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things” (Psalm 118:16).
God’s hand made all these things, (Isaiah 66:2),  therefore we cannot fathom how long or short the arm of the Lord is that He cannot save us. He has no limitations. God’s power is unlimited, He is powerful (Joshua 4:24), there is nothing too hard for God to do. Nothing can stop His power from doing whatever He wants to do.

God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows when we are going through trials and we don’t understand why? God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present, able, watching, waiting, loving, and ever-helpful in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). But our iniquities have separated us from God; our sins have hidden his face from us, therefore He does not hear us when we call upon Him (Isaiah 59:2). Even when Jesus bore our sins on the cross, He was separated from God and He cried out “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46). This shows that when we sin against God, He will not answer us.

The prophet Isaiah reminds us that our sins separated us from God, thereby shortening his arms from helping us.  That is why God sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins so we don’t perish but have eternal life (John 3:16) and whoever rejects Jesus will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them (John 3:36). Therefore we must not allow covetousness consume us and make us to sin against God (Ephesians 2:2-3). Our God is a Spirit and we must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).

As Christians, in the midst of our trials, we must understand that we are not in control of anything, rather we must have a repentant heart (Psalm 51), trust in God, meditate on His Word, have faith, be obedient, believe, and know that our future is secured in Christ. Let us surrender to God through Jesus and turn from habitual sin, obey His commands and conform to the image of Christ in us. Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
