📖: 1 Samuel 1:1-28

Disgrace to many, means different things. One that stands out; disgrace is a thing that causes shame, reproach, or dishonor. It is also the loss of respect and favour.

Disgrace can come from any area, from self or enemies. God can sometimes use disgrace  to promote His glory in our lives and turn the disgrace to grace (Ecclesiastes 7:7-8). In every situation, we must know that “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

When we find ourselves in a disgraceful  situations, we must not fear the disgrace nor be humiliated by it because it is temporary  (Isaiah 54:4). There are some examples in the Bible that show how God turned disgrace to grace. Sarah was disgraced by Hagar and God blessed her with a son, Isaac (Genesis 21:6-7). Peninnah provoked Hannah in order to irritate her and God turned the disgrace to grace for Hannah (1 Samuel 1:20). Our enemies might set out to disgrace us for evil; but God will turn it for good to accomplish His plan (Genesis 50:20).

As Christians, when we feel that God’s grace is absent in our lives and find ourselves in a disgraceful situation or circumstances, we must seek God’s presence (Ephesians 2:8) and pray for Him to “take away the disgrace and turn it to GRACE (Psalm 119:39), use the Word of God and through the help of the Holy Spirit, no matter the situation or disgrace that’s in our lives, God will turn it to GRACE, and God will repay us for the years the locusts have eaten and we will have more than enough (Joel 2:25-26). Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
