📖: Luke 17:11-19, Exodus 6:2-5, Revelation 1:8; 22:13
“And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us” (Luke 17: 13).
WHO IS GOD?
God is the Creator of heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1); Our Creator (Genesis 1:27). God’s name is God Almighty (Exodus 6:2-3).
….And God said to Moses, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as God Almighty but my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. God is referred to as GOD ALMIGHTY and YAHWEH. The combination of God’s names of GOD ALMIGHTY and YAHWEH – “I AM WHO I AM”. God reminds Moses of His name (Exodus 3:14).
Luke 17:13 when the ten lepers saw Jesus, they screamed, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us”. The word ‘Master’ as used in the scripture, comes from a Greek word ‘epistatace’, which means ‘commander’. So these men needed help and they called Jesus a commander. Jesus heard the lepers’ plea and He told them to go and show themselves to the priest. They called Him ‘Commander’ and He gave them a command. He responded to them according to what they called Him. What they called Him was what He became unto them.
Beloved, what we call God is what He will become to us. What we say to God is what He will do for us. Our revelation of who God is will determine how He manifests to us. If we call God a Commander, then we must expect Him to give us a command that will transform our lives. If we call Him ‘Way-maker’, expect Him to make a way where there is no way. If we call Him Healer; Great Physician, He will arise and heal those diseases that the doctors of this world cannot handle. If we call Him Deliverer, He will deliver from from all yokes, bondages, curses, and covenants
We must not allow our circumstances to make us forget who God is to us. Rather, we must let our challenges give us fresh inspiration about God and His power. In the Old Testament, the Israelites called God names according to what He did for them. We also can call God, names according to what He has done or according to what we want Him to do for us. He will manifest in the dimensions we speak of Him. Numbers 14:28 wraps it up: “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you”. Therefore, give God a name and stay connected to God’s superior power. Those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW and stay connected to God Almighty for the manifestation of His Will for our lives, through His Son Jesus Christ for us. Have a blessed day. Shalom!!!
