📖: Psalm 23:1-6

: Psalm 91

Psalm 23:4 says “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”.

A Valley is any place or situation that is filled with fear, gloom, foreboding, or like: the valley of despair.
God created the valleys and the mountains and use them to achieve His purpose. He is always at work in our lives. Sometimes we find ourselves in the valley which is inevitable in the journey of our lives. Being in the valley, sometimes might be of our own making. Other times, it might be orchestrated by God to save us from danger. There are lots of battles in the valleys and it can be anything that causes us hardship, unbearable pain, feeling empty, hopeless, and helpless.

When faced with trials and tribulations of life, that is a valley experience that we go through in life. It can happen to us at anytime, it does not matter whether we are living a godly life or not, it is inevitable. Take for example, the history of Job and Daniel to mention just a few, they lived godly life, but passed through the valley experience. We must understand that the valley is temporary as it’s written in Psalm 30:5 “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning”.

When we are in the valley, God does not leave us, He arms us with strength for battle; and makes our feet like the feet of a deer and enables us to tread on the heights Habakkuk 3:19. During the valley experience, we need to rely on God solely through prayers, fasting, and meditation of God’s Word. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, we will develop spiritually, our faith develops, doubts and fear disappears and replaced with boldness and self-discipline.

Our help comes from God (Psalm 121:1-2) and everyone in the valley that crys to Him shall be raised up (Isaiah 40:4) to the mountaintop. The mountaintop is the victory achieved through the help of the Holy Spirit after the valley experience. His Rod and Staff comforts us and He anoints our head with oil and our cup overflows (Psalm 23:5). It’s a place of love, comfort, joy, peace, happiness, and prosperity (Psalm 24:6). The mountaintop is a height we all strive to attain, therefore we should not make the attributes of our success an idol over God. Through prayers, Word of God, praise, worship, and with thanksgiving we can maintain a mountaintop height. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, do so now, tomorrow might be too late. DO IT NOW and stay connected to Jesus Christ the ONLY source victory.
