Memory Verse: Psalm 16:11

We are God’s workmanship and the Bible teaches that we are supposed to seek God’s face, or His presence, every day, all day. As it is written in 1 Chronicles 16:11 says for us to “Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” And Psalm 105:4 says “Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” “When you said, ‘Seek my face,’ my heart said to you, ‘Your face, Lord, I will seek'” (Psalm 27:8). God commands us to seek His face above all. Seek to know His character, truth, and presence through what He has revealed about Himself. Seeking GOD’S FACE is synonymous with seeking His presence. To seek God’s FACE is to seek a deeper relationship with Him. This is done through praise and worship with thanksgiving (Psalms 95:2; Psalms 100:2-4).and through prayer. Also, seeking God’s FACE means desiring to know His character and wanting Him—His presence—more than any other thing He can give us. And those who seek the face of God will not be disappointed. By seeking GOD’S FACE, we find rest for our weary souls; Gives us life; we find Strength; Fills us with joy, happiness and gladness; it leads to Deliverance; seeking God gives us Discernment, Understanding, and Wisdom; It gives us hope; and are rewarded, lacking no good thing, which leads to Righteousness and Satisfaction.

When we place God first in life, we see Him working through all circumstances and events for our good. Whether we are just beginning to seek out God or we have been believers for years, we should never stop seeking to know God better! In 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” In chapter 6, Solomon asked God to make provisions for the people when they sinned. God answered with four conditions for forgiveness: (1) Humble yourself by admitting your sins; (2) Pray to God asking for forgiveness; (3) Seek God continually; and (4) Turn from sinful behaviour. True repentance is more than talk—it is changed behaviour. Whether we sin individually, as a group, or as a nation, following these steps will lead to forgiveness. God will answer our earnest prayers. Psalms 105:4 says “Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” If God seems far away, we must persist in seeking Him. God rewards those who sincerely seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

What are we Seeking? We go to God in prayer about many things, provision, healing, comfort, wisdom, etc. and there’s nothing wrong with that. We have needs and God desires to provide for us because He is God of Provision. Some say that seeking God’s face can help people trust God’s Hand, see their circumstances through the lens of truth, and avoid being swayed by their own understanding. It can also help us draw closer to God, who will then draw closer to them. Sometimes we don’t seek God’s face because we don’t know we are supposed to. Most of the time, we choose to avoid God’s presence because we know what we are going to hear when we do, due to our selfish desires. The greatest treasure of seeking GOD’S FACE is the promise that we find Him, and, in finding Him, we find rest for our weary souls. He is the source of rest because His yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). Therefore, to seek GOD’S FACE is to seek His character, truth, and presence. Let us seek God’s Face and turn from wicked ways, to look to His presence, strength, and precepts. For those yet to surrender their lives to Jesus, this is not negotiable, do so now, tomorrow might be too late! DO IT NOW! STAY SAFE! STAY HEALTHY! STAY FIRM! STAY STRONG! STAY IN FAITH! STAY ALERT! FOCUSED! STAY CONNECTED! STAY BLESSED!
